Tadao Ando



One of the greatest architects of our time, Tadao Anda was born September 13, 1941. A Japanese architect, never having taken formal training in the field and was once a truck driver, has won the Pritzker Architecture Prize and has an endless resume. He has done such famous buildings as the renovation of Dogana Da Mar in Venice, the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arats, and structures throughout Japan.

Maurizio Cattelan, one of the 55 artists included in the inaugural exhibition of the Dogana da Mar says, 'The dialogue between past and resent is a great wedding".

Along with the Pritzker Architecture Prize he has won the Royal Gold Medal in the UK, the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in Paris, and the A/A Gold Medal in the US. He is currently in the works include the New Tokyo Tower in Japan, a house, stable and mausoleum for Tom Ford near Santa Fe New Mexico, and doing the interior design of Ybl villa in Budapest Hungary.
